Yikes, it has been awhile since I have updated. I will do a summary below of what has been covered since the last update in each grade area:
Below is what K-3 friends have learned on Mondays and Thursdays. Tuesdays are a prayer focused day, Wednesday is worship Wednesday and Friday is parent/guest speaker.
On Thursdays, the 4th -8th grade girls have learned about the following women:
Dr. Ida Scudder, Coretta Scott King, Mary Slessor, Betty Stam, Florence Nightingale, Gladys Aylward
They are getting ready to watch another film, Inn of the Sixth Happiness, based on the life of Gladys Aylward.
On Thursdays, the 4th -8th grade boys continue their study of Proverbs.
On Monday and Tuesdays the 4-8th grade friends learn about the persecuted church. These are the following countries they have learned about:
Tonga, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, The Maldives, Bhutan, Albania, Japan

Week of October 31
The 4th - 8th grade friends were introduced to the 10-40 window. They were also told of the story of Queen Sheba.
** On Thursdays the girls have been watching portion of a movie and discussing it. The movie is a The Hiding Place. It is rated PG-13. The movies tells the true story of 2 Dutch Christian sisters who helped hide Jews during WWII, got caught and sent to a prison camp. There are some intense scenes in the camp that might not be suitable for sensitive or younger viewers.
Week of October 24
The 4-8th friends spent time praying for afghanistan.
- Pray for godly men and women to obtain positions of influence in the country. Daniel 2:48
- Pray for thousands of new underground believers, many not even known by their own families. Pray for safety, protection, courage and wisdom. Pray that they may be effectively discipled. Matthew 13:18-23 and 2 Thessalonians 1:3-12
- The students were introduced them to the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDPPC)
- Watched 2 videos from the Onewiththem.org website
- Helen (from Eritrea) testimony
- I have Decided song/testimony – pretty powerful
