Week Of November 7

Week of October 31


The 4th - 8th grade friends were introduced to the 10-40 window. They were also told of the story of Queen Sheba.
** On Thursdays the girls have been watching portion of a movie and discussing it. The movie is a The Hiding Place. It is rated PG-13. The movies tells the true story of 2 Dutch Christian sisters who helped hide Jews during WWII, got caught and sent to a prison camp. There are some intense scenes in the camp that might not be suitable for sensitive or younger viewers.

Week of October 24

The 4-8th friends spent time praying for afghanistan.

  • Pray for godly men and women to obtain positions of influence in the country. Daniel 2:48
  • Pray for thousands of new underground believers, many not even known by their own families. Pray for safety, protection, courage and wisdom. Pray that they may be effectively discipled. Matthew 13:18-23 and 2 Thessalonians 1:3-12
  • The students were introduced them to the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDPPC)
  • Watched 2 videos from the Onewiththem.org website
  • Helen (from Eritrea) testimony
  • I have Decided song/testimony – pretty powerful

Week of October 17

Prayed for Vietnam. Talked about Peter in jail and people praying for him as an example of us praying for others in jail (Acts 12):
Pray focus:
Prayed for those imprisoned in Vietnam (Hebrews 13:3)
Prayed that Vietnam's government will halt its persecution of Christians (Acts 12:1-7)
Pray that Christian believers will have complete trust in God and will not deny their faith (Daniel 3:18)
Prayed that God will sustain believers with abundant grace in all circumstances, especially when they feel week (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Prayed that the international community puts pressure on Vietnam's leaders to respect human rights (Matthew 21:26, Proverbs 31:8)
Prayed for all those individuals and their families affected by persecution will know the Lord's comfort and healing, physically, emotionally and spiritually (Acts 7:55)

Week of October 10

The 4th - 8th friends talked about the history of Iran and Iraq and Egypt historically/Biblically.
They also learned about a young pastor, Yousef Nadarkhani who is sentenced to death for his Christian faith. His offense was questioning the Islamic teaching his children received in school and asserting the right of parents to bring up their children in their own religious beliefs.
Prayer focus was:
Prayed for Armania as well.
For the emergence of strong and mature Christian leaders for all churches in Iran (Ephesians 4:11-13)
For all who choose to follow Christ will know how to live appropriately under the threat of persecution. Prayed for strength (Psalm 29:11)
Pray that Christians will remain in the country and stand in prayer for their country (Jeremiah 42:10-11).

For the older friends study of Saudi Arabia, the story of Saul conversions from a persecutor to a missionary from Acts 9 was highlighted. Also talked about Islam and where it came from. Prayer focus on the following.
  • Better laws that protect visitors, and no more raids
  • God's protection for Muslims who become Christians. That they find other Christian friends
  • That the Government would reform, and give religious freedom
  • Pray that the Mutawwa'in [the religious Police] will be outlawed
  • That the religious police could become Christians like Saul/Paul did!! That they would respect God.

Week of September 19










In the 4th-8th groups, students read Daniel 3, the story of Nebuchadnezzar and his attempts to be bigger than God and the persecution of the 3 guys.
Also read Roman 12:9-14... bless those who persecute you.
